A Knight In Shining Armour Is One Which Hasn’t Seen Battle

Have you ever wanted to live your dreams of being a Knight In Shining Armour or simply dance around a medieval castle?

Hang tight as we take you back in time, to a castle dating back to the 1840s.

Dine like kings and queens or wander into the woods like the outlaw Robin Hood.

Having spammed photos out on the beautiful lawn with the magnificent castle as the backdrop, we headed inside not knowing what to expect.

Having been partially influenced by Hollywood, we were expecting to walk along hallowed halls with the echos of our own footsteps bouncing off then like a pin ball.

Instead, we were greeted by a refreshing look where old meets new.

Though they retained the stone-walled and slightly dim interior, with even a fireplace, they did add touches of brightly coloured wall paper to give it a modern feel.

Bedrooms were spacious and fit for royalty.

And last but not least, the dungeons, were no where to be found.

After taking time to explore the beautiful castle, we decided to head to the dining room to see how it is like to dine like royalty as we strolled off to the restaurant 1851.

Within the romantic ambiance, they served a variety of British and French cuisines with a modern twist in addition to the mouthwatering presentation and plating.

They are usually pretty packed hence advanced booking is advised even though you might be staying in the castle.

Overall, we had their set meal and spent approximately 2 hours enjoying our dinner.

We are not about to list out the entire menu to you, but instead, will let the pictures speak for themselves.

After dinner we decided to explore the castle grounds on foot. Within the hallowed halls lay the hidden charms of the castle.

On the surface it looks like any other ordinary castle.

But close your eyes and imagine yourself like royalty attending a grand event.

Take a closer look and notice how the warm lighting of the castle bring it to life!

In the morning, we enjoyed a hearty breakfast at the castle before taking a final stroll on the grounds before heading deeper into the English Countryside!

Like all modern day millennials, we decided to fill our cameras with some final photos before we rode off into the sunset.

Not only did we wander around the castle grounds, we also decided to take to the skies and was treated to a majestic view of the castle from high above.
