Nestled within the depths of Kuala Lumpur (Starhill Gallery) is a quaint cafe dishing out flowery and even smoking dishes into the wee hours of the morning (till 2am ). It does beg the question, does their gastronomical theatrics justify the price tag they bear.
There are 2 separate dining areas. One of which lies within the mall and the other in the main cafe itself. Both of which are floral and pink themed emitting a very middle eastern vibe.
Upon entering the main cafe, diners are greeted by the dessert cabinet showcasing a variety of multicoloured pastries and Turkish delights. Their menu was impressively huge with mouthwatering pictures loaded onto an iPad.
The deep fried Halloumi Bites (Rm35) were creamy within and served with a refreshing pesto mayo sauce and sprinkled with a few pretty flowers.
At a glance, the Opera Pasta (RM75) was easily mistaken for a flower hedge with creamy fettuccini tossed with mushrooms, sliced chicken stripes and crunchy capsicum amidst a downpour of grated cheese topped with flowers.
The Pistachio Colada (RM45) was cool and refreshing in the hot weather with a tropical blend of pina colada syrup, creamy coconut milk and pistachio sauce blended with ice but did come across as a wee bit too milky…
